About Vasels

In this series I work with the archetypal form of the vase, one of the oldest and most recognizable ceramic objects. I reproduce only its silhouette, leaving aside the interior space that traditionally defines its purpose. The form becomes a shell without functional necessity - a sign of the idea of a vase rather than an object for use.

I sculpt only the outer contour, abandoning its practical role as a vessel. The form remains recognizable, yet gains autonomy and exists as a self-contained object.

I am interested in the boundary between familiar functionality and its absence. The object appears familiar, but does not obey the usual logic of use, creating a sense of displaced expectations.

I consciously shift the focus from function to form. The silhouette, line and proportions become the main carriers of meaning. Thus, the object exists between an object and a sculpture.
